Jomhuri Eslami newspaper, in a column titled “War without a Commander?!” by the paper’s Managing Director Masih Mohajeri, first cited the praise for (Akbar) Hashemi Rafsanjani by the Leader and wrote at the end:”… Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani is so great that he would not need such points. However the country and future generations would need him as a model to follow. No matter how much the national media, the Museum of Sacred Defense, the Institute for the Publication of the History of War and other unofficial institutes and historians may try to censor the name, memories, role and works of Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani, informal institutions and free historians would write about him with great interest and motivation, and will keep his memory alive forever in the form of books, films, audio and visual works, and his irreplaceable role in jihad against arrogance, in sacred defense, in legislation, in building the country, in institutionalizing free thought and his sacrifices for the uplifting of the country.”
In the meantime, shame and disgrace will remain for those who were behind undermining Hashemi Rafsanjani’s role in the inception of the revolution and the ruling establishment and the holy defense, and those who carried out this evil and treacherous plan. … But the main question is how this censorship would go with the statement by the Leader that “words cannot express the efforts and sacrifices of Mr. Hashemi Rafsanjani in the scenes of the imposed war,” and what will happen to the plaque of appreciation given to the Commander of the Holy Defense with this heavy censorship? Can we imagine holy war and defense without a commander?”
Jomhuri Eslami newspaper also wrote in its FYI column: “Contrary to the statements of some officials of the 13th government last week that we will interact with the Shanghai Pact without accepting the FATF, experts say that it is not possible to enjoy the benefits of this agreement without joining the FATF.”
Likewise, as long as the issue of Barjam (JCPOA) is not resolved, no country, not even China and Russia, will enter into long-term agreements with Iran.”
Kayhan daily has devoted its main front page headline to an analytical report entitled “Negotiation Knot; US Excessive Demands and Opposition to the Lifting of All Sanctions”. The paper quoting numerous statements from the Iranian and US Foreign Ministers and other influential factors in the nuclear talks, published remarks made the Leader on February 7, 2021 in which Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated Iran’s uncompromising stance on the nuclear issue.
Iran’s Definite Policy
The Leader said: “… We have the right to set terms for the continuation of the JCPOA. Recently, we set a condition and no one will go back on it: the condition is that if they want Iran to return to its JCPOA commitments – some of which have been canceled – the US has to lift all sanctions. And not just in words and on paper, rather they have to lift them in practice. After that, we will verify and see if they have really been lifted. Then, we will return to our JCPOA commitments. This is the definite policy of the Islamic Republic and it has been approved by all the officials of the country. Therefore, we will not retreat from this policy.”
Arman Melli newspaper published an interview with Fereydoun Majlesi, a former diplomat, entitled “One must choose between ‘peace and development’ or ‘war and jihad'” and quoted him as saying: “Foreign parties are ready and keep sending us messages saying they are waiting and tell us Iran is not ready for Barjam (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action because the necessary coordination has not been done inside.
This situation also has risks, one of which is the loss of opportunity, because the global situation has changed drastically, … Iran is also one of those countries that have hopes for future development. Like Canada, Russia and Brazil, which have a lot of resources and other countries need to invest in these resources ….
It is thought that there will be a Europe in future facing Russia, contrary to US policies of the past several years and its influence in Europe and other countries. Europe, with its wealth and resources can help exploit Russia’s resources, and Russia can join the Europe it has always dreamed of. In returning to Barjam negotiation table, these points must be taken into account by the United States and Iran.
But I personally do not see much chance. The authorities prefer the interests of Palestine and their violated rights to other issues, unless we want to limit the defense of Palestinian interests to a political and legal support (like what Arab states did) and seek constructive ways to build up Iran in line through progress and interaction with the world.
The final solution is either opt for peace and development, or war and jihad. In the end, there are many supporters of war and jihad.”
“The issue of Barjam has always been the issue of Palestine and Israel. Barjam was set up only to defend the existence of the Zionist regime so that Iran would not build an atomic bomb and could not threaten and destroy Israel, which it had promised to do with an atomic bomb. After Barjam, military officials said they did not want to build an atomic bomb now, but would destroy Israel with missiles, and it was this destruction plan that would force the United States to confront it. It is not necessary to give up differences with Israel, but only the belief in the destruction of Israel that causes these reactions from the West. That fact must be taken into account. “
It’s not the plan of destruction that forces the United States to confront, it’s not necessary to give up its differences with Israel, it is only the belief in the destruction of Israel that causes these reactions from the West. “This too is a belief that chooses between war and peace.”
